The categories of Best Pianist, Best Drummer, Best Bass, Best Guitar, Best Brass, Best Woodwind, Best Vocal, Best Big Band, and Lifetime Achievement will be determined by panel of experts who, where appropriate, will listen to examples without knowing who or what they are listening to - a blind test of quality.

I'd've liked to see The 78 (Kelvinhaugh Street, Glasgow) and The Rio Cafe (Hyndland Street, Glasgow) in the venue category, but never mind. I also struggled over which CD to vote for - for me, it was a choice between Laphroaig-ian Slip and Live at Belleville - I shall refrain from saying which I chose in the end!
Last night Ryan Quigley won Best Jazz Ensemble with his Sextet at this year's Parliamentary Jazz Awards - will he win a few more awards in Scotland?
Voting ends on Wednesday 3rd June, and the presentation ceremony will be on Monday 22nd June at The Tron - there are limited public tickets available at £10 each.
Remember to go and vote!
